An Adventure Awaits
As guests lined up outside the lodge, excitement filled the air. A “Bring Your Own Shade” situation added to the anticipation, with the sun shining overhead. At the top of the hour, ticketed attendees were welcomed inside the ski lodge lobby. Adults 21 and up received wristbands, along with a “lift pass,” 2 drink tickets, and one Good Burger 2 burger ticket.

Once inside, it was all up to the guests to decide their adventure. The main lodge room featured a variety of attractions, including a SpongeBob Squarepants photo op and the mind-bending puzzles of Special Ops: Lioness. Fans of Yellowjackets gathered at the Sharing Shack for a memorable photo opportunity, while the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts bar offered delicious drink choices.
Unique Souvenirs and Experiences
Our journey took us straight to the Yellowjackets sharing shack, where we captured a selfie and received tiny jars of honey along with a deck of playing cards. We heard whispers that the honey supply was soon depleted, but the playing cards remained up for grabs. Meanwhile, the CBS Sports bar adjoining the lodge was a hub for Star Trek enthusiasts. Here, fans could have a caricature drawn as their favorite Star Trek character, providing a truly special keepsake.
Timeless Charm and Curiosities
A small adjoining room held a 1923 “speakeasy” where guests could sip on a cocktail or bottled root beer while capturing a sepia-toned photo. Though cozy, the speakeasy offered a glimpse into the past and added a touch of nostalgia to the experience. We savored our drinks in the main lodge room, where there was still plenty of room to move around and soak in the ambiance.

While we missed out on trying the famed Good Burger due to its overwhelming popularity, we couldn’t help but notice the excitement at the Ink Masters station. Attendees of all ages were thrilled to show off their airbrushed tattoos, with a wide range of stencil options available. And for those looking for a spooky encounter, the Pet Sematary: Bloodlines photo-op provided quick and chilling fun, complete with eerie animal masks and digitally added fog.
A Memorable Escape
As our 50 minutes at The Lodge came to an end, we reflected on our time well spent. Ambassadeur Hotel, in collaboration with Paramount+, successfully created an offsite experience that allowed guests to escape the convention center’s hustle and bustle. Refreshed by the complimentary drinks and satisfied with our adventures, we felt the wait was worthwhile. For those in the standby line, the experience may have varied, especially under the sun.
