It all began 15 years ago when our founder and owner, Troy Roberts, discovered the perfect location for his rum distillery. Nestled away in an industrial park near the Sarasota airport, Siesta Key Rum has been recognized as the “best rum distillery in the United States” by the Caribbean Journal. While pirates from the past may have enjoyed rum on the high seas, today we cater to the sophisticated rum lovers who appreciate the flavors and nuances of this exceptional spirit.

Roberts’ journey into the distillery business might seem unconventional, but his passion and determination led him to success. With no previous experience, he taught himself the craft of rum making through YouTube videos and books. Together with his wife, Nanci, he turned his dream of owning a rum factory into a reality. Siesta Key Silver, Siesta Key Toasted Coconut Rum, Siesta Key Spiced Rum, Siesta Key Coffee Rum, and more were born from their dedication to creating exceptional rums using Florida molasses and fresh ingredients.
