Accompanying the tanks are newly reinforced cabinets made of plywood, featuring Marine-Spec water-resistant lamination. Larger models, such as the REEFER 625 G2, even come with additional aluminum “floating tank” supports for added security. Improved Water Management & Plumbing
The G2 REEFER systems introduce a revolutionary water management system. An efficiently designed overflow box, equipped with dual side-facing return pumps, ensures optimal water circulation and surface skimming. The overflow box comes with a lid that conceals plumbing components and removable weir combs, making cleaning a breeze. Water then flows down an enlarged and rectangular inlet to the downflow pipe, reducing turbulence and creating a tranquil environment. Each G2 model includes a high-precision valve on the downflow pipe, enabling simple regulation for fine-tuning the water flow to perfection.
Reef-Ready Sump – Now ReefMat Compatible
The G2 sump, like its predecessor, is designed with perfection in mind. It features a mechanical filtration compartment with micron filter socks and cups, effectively preventing debris and detritus from clogging vital equipment. In a new development, this compartment is now compatible with the ReefMat 500 or 1200, providing even more filtration options without any modifications. The water then flows into an adjustable-height skimmer compartment, ensuring optimal performance for the skimmer or any other filtration components you choose to include. The final stage involves passing through a bubble trap before reaching the chamber where the return pump (not included) can be placed to complete the water circulation.
The Reef-Ready sump system offers additional features such as an optional refugium compartment, perfect for cultivating chaeto or other macroalgae. Additionally, an RO reservoir is included to maintain consistent water levels, salinity, and flow rates throughout the tank for a thriving ecosystem.
