At Marriott Grande Vista, you don’t have to be a timeshare owner to experience the magic. Although the majority of reservations are made through timeshare exchange companies, anyone can book a stay directly on the Marriott website. In fact, many people book a stay here without even realizing it’s a timeshare resort. It’s important to note that Grande Vista is a family-oriented resort, not an upscale full-service Marriott hotel. Don’t expect room service or other perks typical of hotels. However, if you’re looking for a family-friendly environment close to Central Florida’s theme parks and attractions, then Grande Vista is the perfect choice.
The Comforts of a Lock-off Villa
One of the highlights of staying at Grande Vista is the lock-off feature. The 2-bedroom lock-off villa consists of a 1-bedroom villa connected to a deluxe studio villa. This setup offers two separate quarters, providing an extra level of privacy for families. Each section has its own entrance and amenities, including a bathroom, sitting area, and private balcony. The lock-off also has its own mini fridge and microwave, perfect for those late-night snacks. Plus, the separate thermostats in each unit ensure everyone’s comfort. No more battling over the air conditioning temperature!
Endless Activities for Every Age
Grande Vista is the largest of all Marriott Vacation Club properties, and it truly lives up to its reputation. The resort offers an impressive array of activities for all ages. From beach campfires to Vacationology classes, there’s something for everyone. I’ve personally enjoyed the Butterfly Release and the Florida Reptile Encounter show-and-tell, just to name a few. And for golf enthusiasts, there’s a 9-hole course right on the property. Boredom is simply not an option at Grande Vista!

In fact, during my last visit, two young girls had a less-than-magical experience at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The heat and long lines took a toll on them, and they were happier spending their time at Grande Vista.

Grande Vista offers five different food outlets on the premises, providing a variety of dining options. Forget having to leave the resort for a meal. Whether you’re in the mood for a full-service restaurant experience or a casual poolside bite, Grande Vista has you covered.

The Ambassadeur Hotel Experience
As with any resort, there are pros and cons. At Grande Vista, the positives far outweigh the negatives. However, it’s important to address some areas that could be improved.
The Check-in Process
Due to Grande Vista’s size, the check-in process can sometimes be a bit lengthy. The lobby can get lively, especially with energetic children eager to start their vacation. Additionally, finding parking near the front lobby can be a challenge during peak check-in times. However, the staff is always accommodating and the manager is readily available to assist if needed.
Maintenance Issues
Given the high volume of guests and the resort’s popularity among families, maintenance issues can arise. The resort does regular upkeep, but sometimes unexpected fixes are required. It’s worth mentioning that the maintenance team at Grande Vista is quick to respond and always friendly and apologetic.
